How's the course looking and playing? Never played here, but I'm lined up for a round on Saturday. Trying to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into. Hear the course is nice and open. Any holes to be aware of or tricks to know about?

Not a bad course, really, except for #18, par 3…

It’s not in its best shape ever ( it can be remarkable for a heavily played city course ), but it’s good enough shape for sure. Some poa on greens.

It’s a pretty open driver course but there are many holes w OB. You have to hit good approaches.

Water pinches in way farther than you think in front of #1and #15 green, so getting on in 2 on those par 5s is a really risky play. My plan is lay up short on 1 and on 15 aim at the fwy bunker with 2nd shot and forget the green ( unless you are really long).

Do not be long on approach to 2. If you go over green you’re likely wet. It’s a really good short hole.

For me, putts break a bit less than what I see. But that’s variable depending on where else someone plays I would guess.

If the wind is blowing the course plays tough, there's not a tree on the place. I hit irons on several par 4's off the tee. Number 2,5,9,12. Numbers 1,7, 13, 15 are par 5's and honestly only 1 is unreachable imo unless the wind is blowing from the north. The others are if you hit a big drive. Be careful of the lay ups on 1 and 15 like the above poster said, water reaches into the fairway a bit. Several holes have trouble on both sides, so a drive offline could spell db's. Par 3's aren't long except for 18 especially if the wind is blowing from the south, which it normally does. It's a carry over water protected by a trap in the front. If you do hit the green, it will likely roll thru the green to the back. It's always in good shape and fun to play. Enjoy.

My only real complaint with that course is how low they scalp the fairways in early Spring. Leads to the ball finding a low spot on dirt with a little grass surrounding it.

#2 is a short hole but not very receptive to approach shots. Try to land it on the front of the green no matter where the pin is. anything long is going to be either in the rocks or wet.

#7 is a par 5. If you go for it in two, try to miss out to the right. Left of the fairway is a tough third shot.

#8 is a tough tee shot if it's into the wind. Short right isn't a terrible place to be.

Less than driver is the play on #9.

#15 is a par 5 and there is a lot more room left off the tee than it looks from the tee box. No need to aim anywhere right of the center of the fairway. Like others have said, the water cuts into the fairway a good bit in the layup area.

#17 is probably a layup off the tee. Something around 200 yards will keep you short of the water and leave you a short iron/wedge into the green.

#18 really isn't a difficult shot unless you have a bunch of wind. The water messes with people but in reality it's only about a 170 yard carry. Just have to make a confident swing.

Played it the other day and the greens were pretty slow, but it had rained a little the day before.
