show that i started watching right after the 1st season and got to watch the 2nd in real time but havent revisted until this past month
Great but forgotten show. has been mentioned a couple times on here but usually in passing
Wyatt Russell and Sonya Cassidy play a brother/sister twin pairing having to pick up the pieces after their dad suddenly dies and Wyatts character, Dud, recovers from a surfing injury leaving him with a limp
Set in modern Long Beach, the two have to find a way to deal with the fallout from their dads death after Sonya Cassidys character, Liz, was surprised to find out their dad left her a BUNCH of debt that derailed her paralegal career
During the pilot, Dud comes across Lodge 49, a fraternal order based out of London. Whiile being given a tour by Ernie, played by Brent Jennings, he become enthralled and decides to join
This is where the show takes off as it builds in A LOT of lore and mythology and mystery surounding the lodge and its initial creator.
The show is promoted as a dramadey with humor built into the drama and i would say thats fair. The show deals with serious issues like regret, loneliness, a dying community, etc but always do so in a light way that never strays into the dark. It also handles its lost style mythology and lore in the same way
Wyatt Russell is terrific as Dud and so is really everyone. The Lodge is stocked full of real and authentic people who have their own lives and backstories and Ernies midlife crisis is palpable. As is LIz's hopefessness over the debt she was left with
The first season mosttly deals with the above. The debt, Dud working odd jobs in between Lodge activities, Ernie dealing with being oder and being passed up at work, and the mysterious happenings around the lodge
The 2nd season opens up more and starts to point to tangible things behind the Lodge's lore...mainly a goonie style treasure
To top it all off, it has fun side characters played by the likes of Paul Giamatti (an executive producer of the show) and Bruce Campbell and Vik Sahay (Lestor from Chuck)
Any way this ended up being longer than i thiught it woudl be. if you are looking for soemthing new, i highly recomend
streaming through AMC

Yeah I really enjoyed this show. Disappointed when it was canceled.
Also,
Is hot af. Disappointed she didn’t show the girls when she was getting pounded by jack reacher.
