Anyone know where I can find some around Lafayette? I have been to Lowe's, Jurassic, All Seasons, and that place on the corner of Pinhook and Kaliste.

Speaking of amaryllis plants, I have a bulb from Amsterdam currently indoors in a planter; it is about to bloom. I do not have the greenest thumb and would like for it to multiply. Any tips for transplanting from pot to flowerbed & how to multiply the bulbs?

You really don't need to have it in the ground for it to form new bulbs. The wife and I got one plant several years ago from a friend and it bloomed beautiful red flowers that year, 2 stems with 4 huge flowers on each one.
Later that year it formed new plants (pups) in the pot that I carefully took out and put in 2 more pots. Long story short, we now have 8 pots, some with only 1 bulb and a couple big ones with 3 bulbs that are now blooming.
Plus we've given away at least 5 smaller potted ones to friends who admire their flowers. They are the gift that keeps on giving.

If it is about to bloom, leave it alone and let it bloom. The flowers it sets on the stems will last for almost a couple weeks before they fade and once they do, cut the tubular stem off at the base.
If it doesn't look like it's getting ready to send up another flower stalk, then plant it in your garden if you feel like it.
