He was playing with house money by winning on Friday. While I know he wants to win them all I think he was only hoping to win one at UT this early in the season with so many inexperienced arms.
Looked to me like he was giving lots of guys a "tryout" on a big "away" stage, to see how they preformed and give them a chance to step up to pressure situations. Skip did similar "tests" to weed out the "not ready for prime time yet" guys and to toughen the "ready" guys for future big games.
Or, he just might have run through lots of bullpen guys who didn't live up to the hype - this time! Hopefully they will in the future.

Seems to me he just got greedy this weekend. He won Friday, then it looked like he was going to win again Saturday. AE was pitching well enough and the offense gave LSU a little cushion. I think Jay decided to try and win saturday, thinking they should be able to score more and get through 4 innings without Evans pitching. (I think he started coaching looking ahead to Sunday too soon-started trying to steal a sweep and it backfired) IMO he rolled the dice and it simply didn’t work.
If Evans had come in Saturday as the second or third pitcher LSU likely wins the series. I suspect Jay learned a lesson from this. Jmo.
