Such a shame he passed away at such a young age. I always thought the sky was the limit for him. I wish we had more recordings of him with Quite Riot. Also Amazon Prime has a good documentary about him.

While I’m happy with my current guitars that I have, I’ll definitely have a polka dot one eventually.

Yep. Just 17 days after what should have been his show at the Centroplex in Baton Rouge with UFO opening. Instead, that show was canceled by a-hole DA Ossie Brown, robbing thousands of us of the opportunity to see the greatest metal guitarist of all time. Thanks for nothing Ossie.

I drove to the crash site in Leesburg in 2019. Wasn’t able to get onto the estate, but the road leading to it drove right along side of it. There was a spot I could pull over and stop and see the house in the distance that the plane crashed into. I just sat there with You Can’t Kill Rock ‘n’ Roll playing on my stereo, envisioning the plane, flying through the air and diving down to buzz the bus numerous times. It was actually quite eerie.

RIP GOAT.

I watched the Documentary and I highly recommend it if a fan. The whole story of the struggle of leaving his band to join Ozzie. Man oh man what a big decision that was. He told Ozzie to stop drinking, cause he was going to die young.

Keep rocking in the afterlife Randy. He mesmerized me as a kid…one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar

I’ve been working in Greenville, SC for four months now. Kind of a slow town for shows but I did see Drivin ‘N Cryin in December and then Nile with Six Feet Under opening. Nile isn’t exactly my cup of tea but what the hell, it was a serious metal band well known around the world playing in a club so that was a no-brainer for me. Also pretty cool because they actually formed here in Greenville back in the late 80s. Technical proficiency off the charts.

Last show I saw in Jacksonville was Soulfly in early November and they were amazing.

Man I am JEALOUS of those Acid Bath tickets! That should be incredible. Testament as well. I’ve seen them a few times and they’re great. Acid Bath doing a tour though is just something special. I know they have 11 shows total scheduled with stops pretty much all around the country. I’m hoping they enjoy it and wind up doing an even longer tour eventually.

My son is dying to see Metallica in Atlanta on June 3 so that’s a possibility. Not sure yet.

Enjoy those shows bud.

Forget to mention…Bruce Dickinson is doing a solo tour so you know I gotta go see him. He’ll be playing House of Blues in Nola in early September, can’t wait for that one.

Oh hell yeah! I wasn’t aware of that. Should be interesting to see him with a different band backing him.

Saw him in San Antonio in February right before the accident. Coincidentally, first time I got stoned. Remember him sitting on the stage and rolling into the intro of Diary of a Madman. For whatever reason, one of the few things I can remember from those years like it was yesterday. GOAT.
