NATO vs Russia

Admittedly, I'm no scholar on this and am not well-read on the nuances of BRICS currency. However, I find it hard to believe that we're just looking at France, Germany, Poland, and Ukraine vs Russia, with Turkey playing peace maker.
I immediately thought that BRICS nations, who have a vested interest in the Ruble, would also join the fight if European nations do so. Egypt and Saudi Arabia are about as far from Turkey as Turkey is from the Ukranie/Russia battle front so I would expect them to be pretty involved if this progresses further.
If I'm an idiot, let me have it... but I'm failing to understand why all the conversation is just about Russia and not about the potential of a war of the biggest magnitude we've ever seen.
