National championship games have been duds, for the most part

Last night's game was the closest played title game since 2017 (Alabama vs GA in OT).

Average margin of victory since the start of the playoffs in 2014 is 19-20 points. Last night's game got pretty interesting towards the end. I sure hope we get more interesting and close games going forward.

None of that can be true, because we all know Notre Dame was a fraud and had no business playing for the National Championship.

Yeah but as the CFP wore on the games got closer. Semis and final were closest of all time because they were the 4 best teams. In years past the 4 team playoff had the most deserving, not necessarily the best.

Early round games will still suck in the future but I think you will continue to see more competitive semis and finals.

Same reason the first two rounds of March Madness are the best, if a game sucks, just change the channel. Can’t do that when there’s only one game on.
