Unless you get a multi day warmup and water temps get to upper 50’s. It will be a deep bite . Which for the most part nowadays is all about scoping. There are guides that will scope you up 50 fish a day on an A Rig or Minnow. If no guide then fish main creek mouths around drop offs and humps possibly grass edges off big flats .Dragging a CRig fluke should get you a few bites. Pray for warmups. The last time I went there in February we woke up to frost in the boat. We did very well shallow on weightless Senkos and Trick worms around vegetation in the Six Mile Sandy area. There will be lost of fish shallow no matter the temps.

If I were you, I'd spend a lot of time throwing a trap and if you find some, mix in a jerk bait like a large Rogue. Slow rolling a tandem willow leaf spinner has always been good for me too.

What size and color rattle traps y’all throwing out there?

I've thrown just about everything. Was in a pro-am once where the two of us threw 3/4 ounce red with chartreuse bottom all day and did fairly well. I got my only one hung up on a stump and had to break off. Tied on a 1/2 oz gold and caught big fish of the day. Don't sleep on white.
