The selection of an electric vehicle

Just watching some footage of the attack. Those electric vehicles can accelerate rapidly and won’t make a loud engine acceleration sounds. I wonder If the EV was selected for this reason. People in the street never heard it coming.
There was also this Tesla truck that was exploded in front of Trump Tower.

So why would they bring an electric Ford lightning from Mexico for the attack? It accelerates 0-60 in 4 seconds and is quiet. Never thought that this would make them better terror weapons, but I have to believe that’s why it was used.

The primary reason is the heavy lithium ion battery can be turned into a very powerful bomb fairly easily and used to target large civilian populations

I believe they're also heavier than a conventional vehicle due to the battery packs. I may be wrong about that though.

Interesting. It wasn’t made into a bomb in this case though. It was used to drive over unsuspecting drunk civilians.

It was reported that the driver had an IED in the vehicle which implies it was meant to be used as a bomb
