Slumdog Millionaire, the Wrestler, the Reader, or Revolutionary Road?

No probably not. Theres always talk about opening a theater downtown that will play those types of movies though.

Thats ridiculous. The Rave came out with Pan's Labyrinth and a bunch of great movies last years. I hate how I have to wait months to actually watch quality films.

Slumdog is on its way this month too.... or you could DL the avi online, dvd screeners to be exact and watch them today on your big screen or whatever tv you have. theres a few great dvd players out there, phillips for one that have a usb jack in front, 40-60 bucks online. you DL the avi online, usually 700,000kb in size, upload that to a flash drive and plug that into your usb on the dvd and BAM!!!! dvd quality movies on your tv. I you have cable internet it takes about 15 minutes to DL a movie in avi.. simple and quick.. watching a movie on a 60" is pretty sweet too.

Oklahoma City has 2 of the 4 right now.

Is BR that far behind?

I saw these advertised at a small theater in Raleigh this weekend. Are they supposed to be really good?

I wasn't impressed with Pan's Labyrinth at all.

Maybe its just me but I could care less about many critically acclaimed movies. I saw the preview for Revolutionary Road and it looked like it would be the most boring movie of the year. Slumdog though looks promising. But I could also care less about the other two as well.

I enjoyed the Euro and Indie flicks being shown at Seigen 10 in it's final two years, caught Long Engagement, Monsieur Ibrahim, Che, etc..matinees.

Too bad so many BR Simpletons prefer the latest mainstream Hollywood "bunk of the month" showing on multiple screens.

Dont think it has anything to do with people being "Simpletons" it has more to do with the fact that it costs 9 dollars to see a movie.. Why would I want to pay 18 dollars to go see a movie on a big screen with high def sound which is in the mold of some of these movies? I would rather wait until it comes out on DVD to watch in my own home for much less and where I can choose to set aside my time. I would rather spend the 9 dollars pp for the movies that are presented BETTER on A HUGE screen and the special effects are better with 100000 watt speakers by my side. I dont need to hear Leo De Crapeo yell at his wife at these decibles.
