Samsung ( ) bottom freezer/top fridge suddenly stopped cooling. Freezer set to -2 and fridge 40. Current freezer temp is 34 and fridge is 44. Had some occasional ice buildup on freezer railings for a while so I assume questionable gasket. Then noticed the icemaker stopped working earlier last week. Now suddenly everything in freezer has melted.

Would a bad gasket cause a quick temperature rise like that (one day everything’s fine and then the next it’s 34 degrees in the freezer? I cleaned the external coils yesterday and no improvement. I checked the internal coils in the freezer and they are free of ice/frost, and the evaporator fan in the freezer is running fine. It’s not overly packed with anything that would be blocking any vents

ETA: condenser and condenser fan are running fine also

Samsung are absolute crap refrigerators.i bought one about two months ago, worked one day and fridge side all of a sudden wouldnt cool below 50. Returned it as fast as I could.

Go read the reviews on them, notorious for doing this.

Guess I should have said complaints, plenty of them on places like Reddit. And they have some solutions…Wish I would have read them before I bought my Samsung. Luckily I was in my return window and got that POS out of my kitchen.

What I found to be the issue with mine was the damper in the freezer that pushed cold air into the fridge. The fan attached to the damper stopped working periodically too. My guess it was a circuit board issue, and I had zero airflow on any vents on the refrigerator side.

The temperature panel on the inside of the fridge showed that it was cooling properly on both sides but that was BS. Ice maker didn’t work properly either.
