Anyone else bombarded with fake stories from SI about trade rumors?
For a few weeks my phone chrome browser has been promoting nonstop fake articles about trade rumors that have no chance of happening.
Iylts the only type of SI article I see.
In essence, it seems SI is in the internet click bait business.
How many years are there before SI goes away for good?

Funny how it used to be the sports Bible....every males bathroom reading. At one point they cornered the market on the best sportswriters (sans Rick Reilly and Peter King)....
But you had Frank DeFord, Jim.Murray, William Nack, Rick Telander, etc.
Haven't even looked at SI online in years.... But there was a day receiving that Mag in the mail was pure anticipation.

Once they were able to program computers to write sports articles with woke liberal slants, SI fired all their human writers (who had been doing the same thing for 40 years)

Yep, SI was a great magazine years ago. Besides those great writers you named there was Mark Kram. He wrote some killer boxing articles.
And William Nack's Secretariat stories....back in the days when journalists were gritty and dug deep into a story with excellent prose.
Every January the swimsuit edition would come out. It was a big deal. Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, etc. The good old days really were good regarding SI.

It was great up until the early 00s. They had real stories about sports and sports fans. Real sports journalism and a real swimsuit issue not sponsored by Jenny Craig or AARP.
Look through the 2025 calendars and unless you're a feeder or granny fetishist straight guys won't find much to look at. Conversely straight women and gay men can still find what they find appealing

Trivia question…where was the birthplace of SI? I use to live a couple blocks from it. Played it a lot as well.
