We lose multiple 5*s and could have gotten more if we played ball financially. If don’t screw up against Florida and USC we are squarely in the playoff and have a must better roster composition going forward. We lost our top WR, QB, & don’t flip the top DE from NOLA. Besides LT these are top 3 positions in football today, you can’t make that up. Yeah I’ll pass on BK recruiting too. Also don’t tell me we are gonna pay for transfers, when we don’t pay for recruits out of HS which BK has already said multiple times he values more for “culture creation” yawn.

Why don’t you write a check for a few million dollars to help out with recruiting if you are so torn up about it

I love how people act like Kelly is just being a cheap arse. Do y’all think he gets some kind of kickback for not spending the full NIL budget?

I mean I think the staff did a decent job after losing several key recruits to hold this class together.
I'm a stars guy as much as anyone but got to give credit when it's due.

Fans really have no idea what it’s like for these coaches to deal with NIL. New players vs returning players

You can also basically count Hurley as class of 2025 considering he's only 17. He would have likely been a 5 star this year if he hadn't reclassified.

We can tell that you have been under a rock not knowing how much money we have for NIL vs the schools we lost to. You want us to bid higher? Chip in on Bayou Traditions yesterday

Shouldn’t they have millions now for the portal since numerous five stars went elsewhere?

This is such a false narrative I see LSU fans spread. His last year in high school was terrible and he was set to fall big time in recruiting rankings even before reclassifying. I’m far from a negatiger but I hate when people push a false narrative. That said, he was ranked really high as a 14-15 year old for a reason so hopefully he can eventually turn into the next great LSU QB.

315 post since 2015 and this is what you came up with. You should hold on to the next one.
The QB got 12 million to stay home, get over it.

I’m absolutely not and most that follow recruiting know I’m not. Most of those would not have been committable offers his last year in high school. Offer lists on recruiting sites are far from accurate. I’m not making this up. I want him to succeed but I also know he wouldn’t be a 5* if he was in the 2025 class. Below is a quote about him from last year.

quote:

The 247 ranking guy basically said they dropped him because he's not very athletic, he's having accuracy issues (MaxPreps has him as 54% on the season), they aren't sure he'll grow beyond 6' and there is limited success by QBs who have reclassified, especially one who is really young already.

°USC is estimated to have paid close to 200k on average (Vs #1 Texas’ 215k)

They have the number 14 recruiting class.

°Oklahoma paid more than us.
They’re sitting at #17.

°Mississippi State is estimated to have paid an average of $182.

They’re sitting at #25.

°Tennessee and Texas A&M each allegedly paid more than us and are both ranked below us.

We had a Great haul. Addressed positions of need and your post is shite.

Per On3 industry ranking NIL estimates

He got high praise at Elite 11 at 16 years old. I think he will be just fine.
