Grass seed to plant in Louisiana right now…

We just did some work in our back yard and it will soon be ready to seed. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to plant grass seed at this time of year in south Louisiana (Plaquemine, LA)

Did rye once on a patch and I regretted it. It grew way taller than everything else. Think I would've rather do nothing and seed in spring. Just need something to control dust

Get perennial rye. Stays short. Annual rye is the rye that grows long.
