Is there a deer meat processor that actually gives you back the deer that you dropped off? They all advertise it, but I don’t actually believe it. I make my own ground meat, but I like trying other smoked sausages ( No Homo).

Where are you located/hunting? This will help send you to someplace close.

I trust the smaller ones that I’ve used (not actual processors).
If I get sausage made, the place I go to usually has it done within a day. I stopped making my own a long time ago, it was just too time consuming with my grinder. I just grind up most of it.

I have never not given a customer their meat back but I also don’t do 5k deer a year either. I take what I can handle and when I see I can’t have the deer back to customers within 10 days I stop taking them in or ask the customer to freeze the meat and I’ll call them to bring it once caught up.

I got myself on a different schedule finally. I debone and freeze all of my deer and bring it to the places I like in March or April. No super high volume of deer coming in the door and my thinking is there is a much better chance I get what is mine and only that back.
I used to time running out of meat in October, just took a small shift and i am GTG now for after season delivery.
