Going there for lunch today and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions. Paella? Fish tacos? Thanks.

Fish tacos are good, especially if you ask for them on flour tortillas, they come with rice and beans.
All of the chicken dishes are excellent, I very rarely eat red meat, but had the carne asada there last night.

They do a killer porkchop with black beans and rice.

Pupusas for an app and the tajadas de platanos for my meal. My friend went with the fish tacos and let me just say, a return visit is definitely in the works. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've eaten the plantains many times, but for whatever reason, I've never ordered the tajadas. I always wonder if people unfamiliar with them ever order them.

someone picked me up lunch from there once and we had no clue as to what to order....whatever the hell we got, the portion was incredibly small for the price, and it wasn't that good...if i were you, i'd just go next door to the jam shoppe and get some gumbo & crawfish pies.

Fried plantains topped with ground beef, cabbage, tomatoes, sauce and sprinkled with cheese. The menu says that it's topped with fish, but it's ground beef.
Otherwise you can get plantains fried two ways there, either as tostones (sliced, fried, pressed, fried again) or the platanos maduros. I'm not huge on tostones, I prefer the sweet maduros with the Honduran cream they come with. I have a tostones press at home that I never use, I should donate it to ToplessTenors.

Sounds like you ordered off of the kids menu. Order the pork chop dinner and just try to leave with an empty plate. $7.99 gets you two tacos stuffed with grilled fish, lettuce, chimol and a side of beans and rice.

I went to Le Reyna last night for the first time. I had the Fish Tacos and Honduran Tacos(both beef and chicken).
It was all very good. The food was fresh and it really made a difference in the taste. I spend a lot of time down by Brownsville/Matamoros and La Reyna tasted just like something you would find in the great little hole in the wall restaurants down there. I'll definitely go back. Unfortunately, I'm moving out of BR in 3 weeks.
