I mean not really. Gen Z swung substantially more right this election it’s true, however it is important to take into account things like gender and demographics at least and the more qualifiers you add the better you can drill down to intention. I’ll be brief here and keep it to white men and women and white people who have a bachelors degree and people who don’t.

Among both men and women the current data says people who have at least a bachelors degree nearly has stagnated at its ceiling that it hit non 2016. It hasn’t and didn’t change to any significant amount. However when you add people who have a masters or doctorate basically the higher you go into post k-12 the farther you will swing left. This is just a fact.

The delivery for trumps extreme victory primarily came from one specific voting bloke. Working class men. There’s a ton you can break down here especially using race, locations, generation, etc but let’s keep it to white men and women again since even though it’s true for instance young black men amazingly went about 33% for trump it was white working class who won it they are by far the largest voting block. Men age 18-34 who didn’t attend college swung a jaw dropping roughly 15% more right than they were in 2020. This is insane. Women 18-34 who also didn’t attend college did move more right as well but it will always be a trailing number since women vote left, they’re emotionally. We could say they went like 3% at most right.

All of this to say none of these people are voting for trump for the reason you imply in the op. They voted trump to get illegals out and clean up their country and to stop crushing their ability to live a normal middle class life in this economy.

While it’s understandably hard to fathom losing money every week the American workforce overall save’s nothing to the end of their lives. We have gotten greedy and lazy wanting today and wanting it now. In one generation it will cause major problems that will not be ignored outright and cause problems regardless. Weaned off of or used in a standard investment portfolio vs government control.
