How hard would this be to build?

I have basic handy man skills but have never really tried my hand at wood working. Wife is getting onto me about all my cooking accessories being an eye sore. Thinking about building a table to make it more palatable.

if you are ok with dimensional lumber and you have a skilsaw and screw gun you could build that in one day

i would recommend a square hole for the egg...much easier to achieve.

I'd think you'll need some kind of heat shield to keep things from catching on fire.

i have a very similar table on my deck for my egg, but i just did a 3 sided cutot and rolled the egg on the stand into it. no issues. you can get fire retardant fiber board on amazon if needed/wanted

Go granite or dont. With metal frame, and real stucco/cement sides and facing.
Its good for life.

My BGE currently sits on a wooden table and has no issues. I think I will put something down between the Blackstone and shelf.

I don’t know where you are located, but if you are near a Southeastern Salvage they have cutting board counter tops in various lengths. Couple of those and some 2x4’s. You want to sink your egg, get a jigsaw and cutout a circle. Get some stainless steel sheets for heat.
Plus, they just might have something that gets your fancy and save you from building something……….
