Bringing my 12 yr old son (Big LSU fan and his dream school to play baseball) and wife to town for the game vs Vandy. This will be all of our first times seeing a game there. I have a couple former LSU grads giving us advice on things to do, see, eat etc. while we are in town and would love more ideas.

Honestly just get there early enough to have at least three hours to walk around and see all the tailgating sights and sounds. Try to eat at Chimes on the north side of campus, it should be pretty safe there on a game day with thousands of the good guys around and it's great authentic food.
If it's y'alls first time, get to Victory Hill EARLY to stake out a spot right at the road and stay there to watch the march - that's a really cool thing to witness as a first-timer (hell, even I still go watch it from time to time because it's tradition). Get into the stadium early enough to watch the pregame stuff on the field.
I'm sure if you find a tailgate or two that look interesting and mention that it's y'alls first time coming to a home game you'll get offered plenty of good food and probably some drinks too.
Enjoy!

Chimes is definitely on the list, it was recommended to us previously. Is there a best time to go ?
I think our plan is to basically be at the campus/stadium most the day seems it's a night game.

I would bring him to the OU game instead. There's a strong possibility that the Mexican Johnny Football will make the stadium empty out at half

Yea let's hope a repeat of Bama doesn't happen. The nice thing about Vandy is it's my son's 2nd choice of dream baseball schools. So even though its football (which he plays) he still gets to see both programs.
Also, night game was a priority for us so this one checks that box as well.

I'm a little concerned, Vandy has a bye this week to get ready
That's going to be a tough game

Paying your respects to Mike is required, as is watching the Band and the team walk down Victory Hill (next to stadium)

Middle of next week there will be a Times of Interest posted for all day on the LSUSports.net website. This is the one for the Bama game. The Vandy game TOI will come out on Wed 11/20.

Weather going to be spectacular so spend the day on campus and jump around plenty of tailgates.
