Nutsedge in New Sod

I had new sod placed in my yard three weeks ago and I'm starting to see some nutsedge in it. Should I ignore it and spray with sedgehammer in the spring? I'm assuming pulling it up would make it worse since it releases more seeds. Is this correct?

Spray won’t do much now as it is starting to go dormant. Pulling will leave the loosely-connected nuts(bulbs) behind and may encourage more spreading. You’re probably spot on. If there are just a few, you can try super fine glyphosate or triclopyr spotting or brushing. That might hold them back a little.

DEFINITELY do not pull up nutsedge.
Is it rooted down yet? What kind of sod?
I was using Certainty on my new Bermuda sod after about 4-6 weeks to help control the sedges and it was fine.

Spring.
I love no herbicide or pesticide more than Sedgehammer. It is far and away the worst weed for me and Sedgehammer works like a charm. The last two seasons I've been treating and I bet I have barely any come Spring.
So satisfying spraying those long dangly blades sticking out of my lawn then watching them yellow and die the next couple of days.
