Kelly didn’t recruit these 4th and 5th year seniors. Year 5 should be the true measuring stick when it’s all his players in the system.

Except Kelly himself said year three was the measuring stick.

The program has gone backwards since he arrived.

We have the transfer portal and NIL how. Waiting for talent to develop is no longer and excuse.

With the portal and unlimited funds..you can turn it around in 1 year much less 3. Its on him, the coaches and the players.

This isn’t 1980. The portal has completely changed the dynamics of college football and how to build a quality roster. LSU has unlimited resources for Kelly to bring in the best possible players and he is failing miserably.

Year 3, BK would have access to at least two full recruiting classes and transfers hauls and we are in worse shape now than we were the year before

This is true. However, Jimbo consistently recruited the best players in the country and remained consistently bad. Recruiting is a major piece, no doubt. But player development is crucial. What he did with Perkins was an abomination. Jayden disguised many weaknesses that have been there since day 1. Steady progress in building a winning team is a reasonable expectation and I don’t see it. CBK selection of coordinators has been a train wreck. Baker has made improvements and has a lot of injuries to contend with so he somewhat gets a pass. Big Game Kelly is the same guy he’s always been. He just has better resources and a better talent pool to squander away.

It’s difficult to see where things are getting better with the program.
