come out of Louisiana? I can't wait to see him in purple and gold, but with the great backs named in the previous thread, do you think he will leave a legacy in Louisiana?

Time will tell I guess, but he looks like he'll be very good for the Tigers. Don't know if he'll be another Kevin Faulk though.

Different styles so that would be a hard comparison anyway. Besides, Kevin Faulk was the best RB to walk through LSU's doors. IMO. Cecil Collins probably could have given him a run for his money but da weed got em.

Not saying they have the same styles. Just overall production

It will be hard to compare Ford to other great RB's from a statistical standpoint..LSU always has that stable of running backs that cut into productivity..and look for Pratt (LSU's Brandon Jacobs) to steal most of the goalline touchdowns from Ford throughout his career

No, I've only seen film and stats on him. He's built like a brick shite house and runs freaking hard with deceptive speed. He could be like cecil without the attitude but I hate to throw that around because I thought Cecil was going to be off the charts. I just don't know enough about Ford to make that same claim for him. Cajun can though.

I've seen him. He doesn't have that "wow" factor, but at the end of the day, he's very productive.

Toefield was an absolute beast in highschool. Most people forgot that he tore his ACL after his Junior year and did not play football his senior year.

he rushed for 2,800 yards and 45 touchdowns as a junior and 1,800 yards and 32 TDs as a sophomore

even though he was good at LSU, he was never as good or as explosive as he was in high school

IMHO, no. Though they had MUCH different styles, "I" think CC would've been even better than KF; and that is saying a freaking mouthfull. But then, we'll never know will we since he fricked it all up.

If only these young kids (ala, Eddie Lacy and even someone like PacMan Jones or Mike Vick) would see how much they're jeopordizing their "possible" careers hanging around with the wrong crowd and f...ing with dope. I wish I had 1/100th the talent some of these guys have!!!

the one thing i think ford has over those guys is the chip on the shoulder mentality. Everyone under ranking him at rivals. May not be considered the best back in the state( lacy). Going to mainland bowl instead of under armor. The faulks and collins were the best and everyone knew it and told them. Hopefully ford can use this to his advantage.

The best comparison of Ford would be Jonathan Stewart minues 15lbs. or so. Very similar style runners imo. Ford is much smaller than Scott was in high school.

I can vouch for that. I see him in the hallways at school every day. Once, I accidentilly bumped into him - both looking the other direction - as we passed. I was like walking into the corner of the courthouse.

The kid always has a smile on his face - dresses well - hangs with good kids - has absolutely no street thug mentality - is courteous. And he loves LSU.

I have watched him play all season long, and am really looking forward to seeing him at LSU next year.

If Scott stays, I expect Ford to redshirt next season though.

People tend to underestimate the guys who run hard between the tackles. Emmitt Smith was underestimated at every level he ever played at, but in the end, he got the job done as well as anybody ever has.

People get excited about scat backs like Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, and might I say, Joe McKnight type runners. Don't forget that runners like Emmit Smith, Terrel Davis, George Rogers, and yes, Charles Scott are as productive, or more...

Michael Ford can be a great back at LSU. To compare him to Cecil Collins is unfair. They are two different type runners. Collins could run over people - Ford can run around people.
