I recently got a grim reaper carni-4 mechanical broadhead for my compound bow. Can that same broadhead work on a crossbow bolt?

Depends on speed. You may want to grab some dental rubber bands to make sure it doesn’t pre-deploy.

how many rubber bands you put on?

Maybe, depends how fast the crossbow shoots. I would’ve bought crossbow heads and used them on the compound if you were trying to save money. Personally, I wouldn’t shoot them because they may open in flight and throw your shot off. I don’t like chancing that, but that’s just me.

Broadheads are cheap in the grand scheme of things
Don't cheap out on something that can be the difference between a quick clean kill and a wounded animal...
Use proper equipment

I shoot this exact broadhead, 125gr, in a Ravin R10. Have shot them since they came out. Originally they were marketed as a crossbow head but then they stoped as other Pro Series heads came out. I have never had anything but great results. Killed a little doe at 68 yards with one this week.
