Any recommendations for someone to wash white metal roof. House is 2000sq ft under roof. Quotes range from 700-1200.
What is reasonable rate?

Do you have pics of your roof? Price is worth however much your time is IMO. You can buy a good pressure washer and longer hose for $500 and DIY, especially it's metal.

Mix with bleach and water, spray it, and rinse 15 minutes later.

Rates are market specific, They shouldn't use high pressure on the roof and should do what's called a soft wash. They spray a bleach mixture to kill anything organic and rinse it off. If you DIY make sure to wet any plants before and rinse them off after so you dont burn them up.

Don’t pressure wash. There are ZERO regulations on who can call themself a roof soft washer. Make sure they know what they are doing. If you have landscape, they call easily kill it if they don’t know what they are doing. They can very easily damage your roof if they don’t know what they are doing.

As a roofer I dislike when a customer does a roof wash bc it damages the adhesion making when I walk it later very “slidey” because the granular easily come off.

When someone is dead set on a soft wash, I recommend Zayne at Superior Softwash

Sounds like you’re in the know. So, what would you recommend for a DIY application?

I had my roof repainted/recoated many years ago. The roof is about 30 yrs old. Never leaked.

If you wash a metal roof, especially with bleach it will be slippery as wet ice. Even a low pitch like 3 on 12 requires being tied off. I FAFO the hard way
