Golf Simulator

My siblings and I are trying to come up with what to get our dad for Christmas. He's the type that has everything he wants, he sees it and wants it he just buys it. Hard to get him a good gift. He plays a ton of golf and my mom has been playing the past year with him. For $5,000ish could I find a golf simulator package to set up for them? The goal is not for him to have a set up to go crazy with metrics but just hit balls and play a virtual course. They have a barn in their backyard that has plenty of space, I selfishly want to get it for them so I can use it too. I haven't done a deep dive on the research side and I'm not familiar with any sims yet.
Any recommendations? Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Yes. Depending on how much work you want to put into I would say. I am all into mine for roughly $3500. I spent alot of time researching and customizing my build to fit my area, but my goal was to have something playable for fun and to get better. I didnt need the best of the best. It serves its purpose and looks great too.
