Mystery Switch Online Playtest Applications Now Open

Applicants must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Membership, be at least 18 years of age, and be located in either the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, or Japan. Participants from outside Japan will be chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis, while participants from Japan will be chosen via raffle if the number of applicants exceeds a fixed amount.
The actual playtest will run from October 23 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET until November 5 to 4:59 p.m. PT / 7:59 p.m. ET. Users will need to download exclusive software to their Switch in order to participate.
Nintendo did not share any additional information about the new feature.

Just opened at 11am EDT. Maybe there's some kind of Switch 2 interface beta testing? Who knows?

It's already on there. Would have to be Wii or maybe another Sega console. Currently only Genesis is on there.

I had to look it up, since I know I've played Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Sunshine and a few others on the Switch, but then it occurred to me that it was because of that Mario collection they released a few years ago.
I'd love to see the Sega Saturn library ported to NSO. I had to choose between the Playstation & Saturn when I was in college and went the Sony route.

I'm oddly excited about whatever this may be. Were it not for the fact that we could see some manner of formal Swtich 2 announcement before the end of the year, I'd normally not really give it much thought.
That the next console is purported to be backwards compatible with the Switch game cards means there's some manner of current gen Switch hard-/software that will need to be down with the new system.
The file is said to be 2.2GB, and they want you using a wired connection to download it, but I do not know if they want you to use a LAN connection to use the mystery software.

Yeah I doubt people will be “posting to social media within 5 minutes regardless”.
Nintendo doesn’t screw around with NDAs or things like that. They will sue the frick out of anyone who would do that
