I'll be going on an offshore charter trip out of Venice in a couple weeks and getting everything together. I'm an La Resident with a current freshwater and saltwater license. Do i also need to purchase the Resident Charter Passenger License (3 Day) for $20 in addition to the fresh and saltwater license to be compliant for the trip? IT's been several years since I've been on a charter and It's not really clear after searching the LDWF website.

NO, I've been on several charters and all they ask if I have a saltwater license?

I dont think so. If you have a resident saltwater liscense then you can take your limit regardless if you are by yourself or with a guide
Guides already have separate fees for charter license. It would be double dipping for the state to also tag extra on the charter passengers. Not that the state is above petty money grabs wherever they see an opening for it

No. The charter passenger license is only if you’re going with a guide and don’t already have a regular resident or non-resident fishing license. Meant if the guided trip is the only time you’re fishing all year
