Buck Knife 192 fixed blade

Anyone have experience with this knife? Looking hard at it for the skinning rack

I’ve yet to skin with this knife, as I just got it. But it seems to be a great value. I follow his account on X.

Also, consider a Cutco with the diamond cut blade. Great for the heavy stuff.

Yeah, it's probably one of the best selling skinning knives of all time. A little heavy due to blade thickness and handle material, but feels good in the hand. I have an old one with the gut hook in 420HC that's still going after 20 years, and another without the gut hook in S35VN. Both are very sharp from the factory and retain a good working edge for a long time due to the Bos heat treating method. The S35VN stays sharp longer, but is a PITA to sharpen if you let it get dull. For 1-2 deer a year, the 420HC is probably better for the money, but I've had to touch it up in the middle of skinning wild hogs before. The S35VN would do an entire hog just fine.

I prefer my Buck 113 over the 192, and would rather use my Benchmade Steep Country over anything else, but I also collect fixed blade knives FWIW.
