Does anybody ever vacation in the Stuart to Cocoa Beach, FL area?

I'm living in Vero Beach, temporarily, and so far, I love the vibe. It's not overrun with tourists, although it does have nice restaurants and bars. Seems like more of a town where snowbirds go for peace and quiet rather than where families or young adults go for entertainment. Traffic is relatively light. Beaches are beautiful, although not as nice as the panhandle. Fishing is great. The Bahamas are short boat ride away. Orlando is 90 minutes away, and its also relatively inexpensive to live here.
When my wife gets home from work, we're going to the beach for a walk. I seriously will consider Vero as my retirement destination...
Cocoa Village and Melbourne are also nice.

We stayed at Vilano Beach last year and loved it for the same reason.
St. Augustine was just a quick jump over the bridge if we wanted a livelier crowd.

I love Vilano and its laid back Vibe.
Vero is a bit bigger than Vilano. The best way I can describe it is as a wealthy old southern town that is also on the beach. Instead of strip malls with night clubs and bright lights, we have golf courses, art museums, playhouses, and supper clubs. We have easy and free beach access.
Unlike surrounding communities like Port Saint Lucie and Jupiter, Vero has been careful to control overdevelopment.

We live in Stuart and love it. Not many tourists and the Hutchinson Island beaches are great and not overrun. Vero Beach is also nice. We boat out of the old town marina several times a year. Great vibe.

Yeah when we lived in PSL, we would take our dog to Walton Rocks. Always quiet, even on holidays. The only obstacle was when that dude lit up his house with Xmas decorations. Don't go there at night in December unless you're there for the lights.
We like Vero much more than Port St Lucie because PSL is just a vast collection of HOA communities. Vero is a legit small southern town. You're right - its a good vibe. Young people call it "Zero Beach" because it's too quiet, but I like it that way.
