We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.
Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

Way too hot for all of this nonsense
At the end of July a couple of weeks ago, we hiked in Joshua Tree National Park with same temperature conditions. We go in the morning, stay hydrated, didn’t push it and we were fine.

My son: high school game Friday night, football practice Saturday morning, 3pm flight from Austin to Vegas, Sunday LSU win, 11pm after game: flight back to Austin (arrive at 4am), Monday football practice at 7am.
Wife and other sons stay a few extra days.

Sounds like a good time
I personally wouldn’t do it during the heat of the summer. I’d be fine, I work outside in the south. I just know I wouldn’t enjoy it nearly as much as a hike in the winter or spring there. You can find me in the climate controlled casinos.

you can go visit Vegas any weekend of the year. I’ve been waiting since January to watch College football & there’s no better place to watch and bet on games all day than Vegas
