I remember volcano too. That was a bit more of an over the top action movie while this one tried to be a bit more accurate


I don’t think Brosnan’s boss was wrong to call off the alert till they have scientific evidence

Now Brosnan is wearing a shirt, a denim jacket, and a trench coat

What town of 20,000 has its own tv station?

If they think they’re going to evacuate why set the town hall meeting for 12 hours later?

That’s fricked up. The helicopter crashes and he tells them to send for the fire services when they know the volcano is about to explode “any second”

Ruth really did frick up

This truck is super truck

This acidic lake, Ruth’s death scene is so fricked up

These kids are going to be so traumatized

A bit late to be sending in the national guard

That flooding death is pretty intense too

No way those tires would last driving through lava and being on fire

Great bit of parenting dialogue

Don’t like seeing the bone sticking out. Of of the things that I remember most about this movie

Which one had the dude jump in lava to save someone? That scene always cracked me up

Then it was on point. I really liked the way theme music came up in certain points. Though my impression wasn’t on the volcano itself. But the notion of generic “forces of nature.”

And the practical effects of the pyroclastic cloud was genius (huge air cannons) and hold up better than CGI
