Does he try just a LITTLE bit too hard to live up to the legend before him?

He does but he can never be the legend
Note-I don't ever watch this but saw a little bit of it once or twice with him on it.

I think Drew does OK. Now, if you want to talk about the train wrecks after Richard Dawson hosted Family Feud...

Never watched an episode with Drew, but this is the worst tv hosting segment i've ever seen.

completely agree. he will never be better than bob barker. he is all right if he stays himself, but he is trying too hard.

He'd just come back from an extended break where they had to try to figure out if the guy had cheated. Drew probably didn't want to make too big a deal out of the two great bids, because they didn't know if it would stick or not.

Drew does okay. It's not like Bob was Mister Showbiz during this last decade or two. He was a 1950's host stuck in the next century.

Bob Barker is one of the biggest pricks in the world. I have several friends/aquaintances that have worked with the guy over the last 10 years COMPLETE DICKWAD. I actually like Carey, he seems to get genuinely excited when people win big.

Told my wife that Carey was a Marine.
She didn't believe me. I had to look it up on Wikipedia and show her.
For the record, his Marine picture on wiki looks like he'd kick your arse.

I met Drew Carey in Las Vegas about a few years ago. Hell of a nice guy. My new wife, and a few friends were all their, a buddy told Drew I had just got married. He bought a bottle of champagne and sat with us for about an hour and a half.
Class guy, and funny as hell!!

I would say the opposite. I like Drew Carey. I even went to see his show filmed once, but I'd like to see him get a little more into it. It's like he's always using his indoor voice. :)
