What composure as a head coach. Did you notice the timeout? He and his assistant coaches conversing before addressing the team. And by the way he did not get antimated even when the call seem to go the other way. He is going to be a good coach.

it's early, but i really liked how he used Q. Thornton to come in and help with the big Aussie. Also like his use of Storm Warren off the bench.

It's so crucial to have roles for more than your top 5-6 players, esp later in the season. Helps with team morale, fatique, experience, etc. We obviously need some more size in the frontcourt, but Johnson's use of what we have is encouraging.

The guy can flat out coach. How he pulled Johnson when Baynes was man handling him to put the thicker Thornton on him. Brady would never do that. Brady never had role players.

I would like to see the technique of GT's shot from last year til now. It looked a little different today. Not saying thats TJ's doing that, but GT will have a huge impact on how far LSU can go this year.

This is the first year I have seen a low post swing pass for 3 in a while.

Maybe he can help coach Miles on when and how to call timeouts

TJ is a great coach IMO and will be around for a while I hope.

I like how his TO's are actually used to inform the team of a strategy rather than yell his arse off at them and not give any leadership (i.e. John Brady).

If Trent can establish a solid foundation this season and begin to snag some solid recruits, we should be in good shape in the next 4-5 years.

He got animated once. LSU was on a fast break, don't remember who it was but he got hammered as went up for the layup Cougars grabbed the ball and there was no call. there was a timeout and Trent was on the court yelling at the official.

the best move he made tonight ended being huge for us. I thought it was dumb at the time to take thorton and tmitch (foul trouble) off the court at the same time. Bass played awesome defense and the defense during that time was huge

You're lucky to keep a kid with NBA talent 2yrs these days. He's got to win right away, forget about a foundation.

I agree that he is a great coach, but this isn't much. Most coaches do this during full timeouts. This includes my brother's high school coach.

The team played far more disciplined than I have seen since the last 8 games of the 1986 season. The Final four team that almost didn't make the tourney.

It was strange when we had Warren, Bass, Temple, QT, and Farrer in the game at the same time under 5 minutes, but they held it close as soon as he put the starters in they pulled away, probably because they were rested.

It was really a risky move but it worked out perfectly.
