Why don't we hear Saban won with Shula's recuits?

It seems that ever since Miles got here that this was said whenever Miles was coaching and LSU suceeded. Bama goes undefeatedin the regular season, against a shitty schedule mind you, but not one word of the Saban won with Shula's recruits was mentioned. I will probably get abused with "not another Saban thread" but I think whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Don't you know sonnyboy? This "winning with so and so's players" is reserved for Les Miles. Nobody else gets that stupid bullshite laid on them.

All that was started by Bammers....oh yeah...besides a winning season...what championships did they actually win?

Because Shula didn't do near as well with Shula's recruits.

Neither did Saban (with his own recruits at LSU is what I mean). Miles has a much better record with those recruits.
And I've already brought this point to the attention of ESPN posters (which is where I usually post) because they usually say this same shite. "LM is winning with Saban's recruits" in which I reply with, "then you are saying that Saban is winning with Shula's recruits...?"

There is a big difference in Shula's record and Saban's record. Saban had two SECCs and one BCSNC compared to....Shula's Cotton Bowl trophy.
But hey, what do I know, Saban didn't win shite at LSU.

I think you misunderstood. I'm comparing Saban's record AT LSU versus Miles record AT LSU (with Saban's recruits). I thought that's what you were doing regarding Shula's recruits at Bama versus Saban coaching them at Bama.......

I'm also taking hardware into account in addition to the W/L column.
Saban and Miles are par when you combine the two of those, and you have to remember Saban inherited a much less talented team than Miles.
Kines won 10 games in '05 because we had one of the best defenses in the country. That's all Shula had to hang his hat on.

True. Saban loaded LSU with much talent. Miles had his work cut out. I still feel he should receive credit for "coaching" those recruits though. To be honest, I've never been completely sold on Miles as our coach. I think he's done great so far but we are about to see what he is made of.....this year (not so good). He's bringing in the talent for next year so I'm hoping for the best.

Because Shula sucked with his recruits and Saban had a 12-0 regular season with them and 18 true freshmen. Saban won an SEC title with Dinardo's recruits and an SEC and national title with his own at LSU. To his credit, so did Miles. But to answer your question, Saban and Miles both won at LSU, Shula didnt at Alabama.

Saban is a better coach. Shula gotsome good players. But he sucked as a coach.

quote:Because Saban inspires confidence in himself, and he controls his public image to prevent dumb shite like that from being spewed. Miles just says wacky stuff and allows anyone to come to a conclusion about it. Miles also does not speak with any authority allowing others to take what he says and twist it.
