Who made the call?

Home plate ump called him out. Other umps about 120’ away. Not reviewable, so shouldn’t be league office calling. How was the original call changed and by who?
Also, how is it interference if batter didn’t hit the catcher. He backed out. Where is the deception (balk?).

Umps looked like fools and LSU still won. Great day all around.

SC coach. It was a designed play hoping to get that to happen. Watch his postgame

One call, that’s all!

Exactly. This hasn’t been answered and is the key to whole play (and honestly what should be protestable unless they clearly tell us it was one of the field umpires who ran in to make the call)
Home plate ump signaled out as the players all walk off the field
If one of the field umps made the call it’s absurd because they have no view.
If home plate ump changed his own mind (especially if only after complaint from SC coach) on a non challengeable and non renewable play judgement call he broke the rules

Yep! They always figure out a way to give some explanation diverting attention from the screw up and they never come back to why their answer is irrelevant!
