There's not infinite money, though. Like NIL - plenty of kids will want to play for the school they grew up with.

But also, I think the past in this regard is way overstated. All schools were always happy to take kids from far away as long as they were good. In a sense, those kids were ALWAYS choosing the "higher paid" place and nobody cared.
