Willing to bet Louisiana makes out way better long term sending them out of town rather than arresting them locally a few dozen times, prosecuting them three or four times, having citizens file insurance claims from the shite they steal, then eventually paying the civil suit when police have to arrest them and they resist and yell "I CAN'T BREATHE" the entire time.

We are spending a fortune to house them in other state's facilities. We aren't eliminating their due process or expelling them from the state.

Unfortunately a new youth detention facility does nothing to correct the revolving door that some judges and DA's create in Louisiana. That's a different problem altogether and arguably more serious than the detention facility plan.
