You know what grinds my gears are places that expect you to be at work 10 or 15 minutes before your shift starts and you can’t clock in until 8 am. Then when everyone in management is racing to leave at 5 pm. You are stuck there finishing your work because they need it quick and they have no concept of time when they ask for something and give you no time to prepare or continue saddle you with your other responsibilities.
On the flip side Walmart got in trouble a few years ago when most stores closed at 9 pm. They would lock the front doors and while management might be busy balancing the tills or tending to the overnight crew, they would forget to let the employees that were scheduled to get off or clock out at 9 pm. Some employees that even waited to punch when they officially left the store were penalized by the managers going back and pencil whipping the clock to reflect the 9 pm end of shift.
