re: Lafayette…Best place to live in Louisiana

From what I remember visiting family in Lafayette, it’s an alright place if you want a big-town feel while not feeling super-crowded. The traffic is absolutely horrid because the infrastructure wasn’t made to handle the amount of people that live there now.

River Ranch is probably the nicest area but real estate there is pretty expensive. A lot of upper-middle class retirees live there. It’s definitely one of the wealthiest zip codes in Louisiana along with Uptown, Gardens District, Mandeville, etc. That says a lot considering there aren’t many wealthy zip codes in Louisiana.
