B) Did the only agree after attendant made her "ruling", i.e. until they realized there were indeed consequences did the passengers relent?

C) Did they agree but the attendant decided they weren't sufficiently attentive and didn't really heed the directions?

D) possible they simply made a boeing joke and it was taken personally.


E) Your ticket buys you access to the plane and a seat (maybe). Once you are on the plane, you are 100% under the authority of the flight crew. Your rights are almost completely waived until you exit the airplane door.
