Yea capitalism which was created by democracy, created by the age of enlightenment, created by global literacy, created by the reformation…. These created all the good and bad things of modernity. Go listen to some Joseph henrich interviews. But we traded family and interdependence for individualism and consumerism. We used to describe ourselves as the son of_____ tribe of_____ and feel shame for dishonoring family, now we describe our characteristics such as easygoing, quirky… and feel guilt for not keeping up with hustle culture.
