Oh my bad. I assumed yall were discussing something relevant to the present.

I can't comment on what happened 30+ years ago. But within the last 15 years or so I can say pretty confidently say they don't have an extra grade for people that got held back.

Yeah if any players did get held back it was most likely done way sooner. They will mention it to parents around 1st grade or 5th grade depending on how long the child has been there. Also it's usually not presented with anything dealing with sports. More so the current size of the child or where their birthday falls.

Correct. They had to stop in the early 2000’s because the LHSAA cracked down on schools doing it like the poster mentioned above. Now they do it before junior high.

Because the LHSAA outlawed it. They made you holdback before 6th grade or lose eligibility.

They just ended this rule btw...
