I've lived in Charlotte for the last 25 years, except for 3 years in Raleigh.
Love both, but Charlotte is my home. Wake County (Raleigh) is more populated than Mecklenburg County (Charlotte).
Raleigh is NOT 15 yrs behind Charlotte. Charlotte metro is bigger, but that's it.
Raleigh is more tech w RTP (Research Triangle Park) being there. And it's the state capital, so roads are wayyyy better than in Charlotte.
I think Raleigh is a little nicer, but I like Charlotte better.
