We’ll see what it’s like this year. Kaymer was on an unbelievable heater in 2014 when he won by 8. The course played exactly how you want for every other player and was a bloodbath on the weekend. Same goes for Winged Foot in 2020 and Bryson playing out of his mind.

I still feel like the traditional US Open courses—Winged Foot, Oakmont, Shinnecock, The Country Club—have held up well and been great tests recently.

The Country Club actually coughed up some low scores in 1988, but it's come back to Earth recently.

I agree with you, the traditional courses for the open are the best. Even Baltusrol despite its low scores and crazy finish with both Par 5's on 17 and 18.
