I bought a used truck from a guy one time. We got to talking about the scars that were all over one side of his face and neck. Seems he adopted a dog from the local shelter and was taking it home to his family. Along the way, he stopped to let it out to pee before he got home. For some reason, as he was putting the dog back into the car, his face got close to the dog and the dog lunged at his face and violently ripped into his skin, tearing shards of flesh from his face and neck. He needed several rounds of cosmetic surgery to even come close to looking normal. His take on the situation was “ thank God I bent down and the dog attacked me instead of one of my kids”. Moral of the story: before you take a dog home to your family, stop and kiss it and see if it rips your face off?
