This is fair but Lebron may be out of the league and his influence to get him on a team may be gone.

He literally said he wants to write his own narrative. Having your dad make a team draft you when you don't deserve to be drafted is not doing that. At least try your best to do it on your own, right now, he's not doing that.

I agree with you here- the interview was strange. Almost like he doesn’t recognize the main reason hes there- which is worrisome but hes also a young kid so not sure how much blame I can give him.

This isn't a normal real life job/school experience. This is something that will stay with him his entire career and long after. He will be a joke in the league and all of social media. Your kid isn't going to feel that type of pressure by you giving him a job he doesn't deserve. Also, telling a kid to earn something himself isn't the worst advice in the world. Especially when you could tell him to "try and earn it, and if by next year you want to come out, I'll get you on a team." Lebron has the ability to do that.

I’ll be honest. I think you’re thiinking this will affect them more than they already dealt with. This lebron stuff has followed them all their life. If you cant handle social media and criticism in any manner- you shouldn’t be in the league to begin with. Hes also protected by Lebron’s media machine- the dude basically controls whats said on espn. Honestly, I think the social media and nepotism pressure is the least of his concerns.

quote:

Yes, nepotism happens all the time, but this isn't just a regular situation.

Its a typical nepotism situation it just involves Lebron and the NBA thats why its blown up. It happens everywhere. In coaching, politics, schools, etc. The only thing irregular about it, is it involves Lebron and the NBA.

Yes as a father you don’t want your kid to fail. But what if as a father you’re able to give him an opportunity he normally would never have? To me thats what lebron is doing. Frankly, your anger should be more towards the NBA and their teams that are inviting him to the combine more thab towards Lebron in my opinion.
