This. My wife wanted to go hiking with the kids and myself for Mother's Day yesterday. So we went up to a small lake near Cheaha where I knew there was a trailhead. The trail goes by a small waterfall that's just beautiful and when we arrived, I looked down and there was a guy and a woman in the shallows of the creek. The man had set up his tripod and was taking some long exposure shot of the waterfall to get that neat effect.

But while we talked with them shortly, I was kicking myself for never thinking to bring my good camera along on hikes. I see stuff all the time while hiking and just think, "Man, that's gorgeous..." and just move on. I don't know why I never thought, "man, that's gorgeous, it would be cool to get a picture of that..."

I go hiking at least once a month and it's one activity that I do that the kids actually enjoy as well, so it's kinda two birds with one stone there. That's the cool thing about kids as they get older, you can spend quality time with them, AND do something you enjoy to decompress from the stress of life.
