Last night in the northern sky, to the eyes, it was a noticeable red glow with hints of green. The iPhone camera of course really brought out the colors. I don’t care. It’s probably a once, maybe twice in a lifetime event in southeast Louisiana. I’ll take what I can get. If you told me yesterday morning “you’re going to stand in your front yard tonight and see the northern lights” I’d have asked you what kind of shite you’ve been smoking.
To my knowledge, thus far, no significant negative impact has come from this. It’s kind of nice to have a relatively unexpected, world-wide natural event occur that everyone can enjoy (weather permitting). So many pictures from around the world. We kind of needed a shot in the arm like this. Too much negative shite in the world. Just enjoy a little positive while we can.

At least this wasn’t a Carrington level event or maybe our primitive technologies back then were ill equipped to handle such an event.
Now my question for the Space weather nerds what does that mean for the upcoming hurricane season. Should we buckle up? One of the last events of this scale was in 2005, should I start moving and evacuating from SELA.
