Thanks man I couldn’t remember where it was and didn’t see it when I started my post

It is better. There's a reason every single MLB catcher uses that form. Milazzo just fricked up. Him being on no knees wouldn't have changed that.
I mean he's flexible enough to when the ball is approaching the plate, he is covering almost the entirety of the backstop with his leg. He came up too early.

No, it’s not and there’s a reason MLB games look like shite these days

Yall think he missed a ball through his legs because he was already on one knee?
Christ some of you are dumber than I thought

It works. Just because one play goes wrong does not mean an entire style/strategy of play is incorrect.

One play, huh? You’ve been watching our catchers this year?

When you are on your feet, and drop down to block a ball, your glove has to go to the ground.
When you start on one knee you don’t have to drop to the ground and natural reflexes are causing the glove to rise up off the ground.
We have done it 3 times in the last 8 innings.

Imagine just being this clueless but thinking you know what you’re talking about lol

Natural reflexes? Get on one knee at your house with your leg extended, then drop the other knee and tell me what happens with your hands and upper body.

Now let me throw a ball at your gut and see what your instincts do.
But when you are dropping from your feet to your knees you technique is to jam the glove straight into the ground.

Look you and I have had this conversation for a few weeks now and neither of us will likely budge. I’m pretty confident that the coaches see the same game we both do and choose to stick with this technique for a reason. It’s likely the same reason and logic that MLB teams are using too.

The catcher for Bama is on two feet.
He’s blocking everything, including stopping the last one with his glove, which was firmly on the ground.
Clinic over.

MLB catchers are the top 30 defensive catchers in the world.
The 3 LSU catchers aren’t in the top 30 of division one American college catchers. We aren’t skilled enough to do it successfully. We’ve proven that.

Oh god it another “never played ball past 8th grade rec” and knows more about catching than pro and college coaches over a 30 year span. Just because OUR catcher misses a ball because he moved late. Please stop youre embarrassing yourself.

No our middle of the pack catcher did it. Now go watch a pro or high level college catcher do it then comeback. Your point is proven wrong easily with the fact the MLB has been coaching it and doing it for 30 years. Yet you think you know best watching on tv. This board keeps getting worse.
