This is the problem with to many local PDs. They all want to be special forces guys who think they are gonna kick down some doors and gun battle with the bad guy and save the day and go tell all their buddies about how they could be “operators”.

Stop treating citizens like they are potential terrorists in a cave in some sand box across the world and just knock on the damn door like a human being and figure out what the frick is going on.

You go into every conflict with the expectation of violence and you’re just setting up a situation where you are more likely to find it

That’s fine in theory and if he was responding to a call about a noise complaint then I would assume his approach would have been a little different.

I can’t speak for law enforcement but your threat perception is different based on the situation. Especially one you know is very dangerous. If the officer believes that someone is being harmed inside that apartment, his approach is going to be more aggressive.

We use to have to tell our soldiers and remind them, especially the closer we got to the end of a deployment that complacency kills. It’s true and if you haven’t experienced it you might not understand it truly. (Not saying you have or haven’t experienced it, just stating for those that don’t know)

That doesn’t give him the right to gun this guy down in his doorway. I’m not saying that.
